Don Williams Named Tigers New Head Coach!

Long time assistant Don Williams has been named the new women's track and field coach to replace Troy Becker who resigned the position (letter below).  Coach Williams is also the Head Coach for women's cross country.  Erica Brenden and Josh Carnelley will remain in their positions and a new assistant will be hired.

Dear Track & Field Family,

I have submitted my letter of resignation as head women’s track & field coach at Cedar Falls High School.  As many of you know, my job responsibilities at CFHS have changed a lot over the last 3 years.  Next year will bring about even more change as our school district shifts to a 7–12 Athletic Director.  This change will result in me being assigned additional administrative duties that will make it very difficult for me to continue as track & field coach.  It would be unfair to this great group of athletes to continue if I don’t think I can commit myself to the program fully.

I feel extremely fortunate to have had the opportunity to lead this program at this great school.  The relationships that I have developed through track & field are ones that I will cherish forever.  I sincerely hope that the new head coach will be open to having me hang around practice from time to time and let me help out.  It would be nice to keep involved with this fantastic group of returning and incoming athletes.

Thank you for your understanding and support.  I’m looking forward to helping and supporting the many programs at CFHS administratively so they all can achieve at the highest level.

Go Tigers!

Troy Becker
